- One of several set issued by The Sporting News in 1916. The cards are printed black and white photos of the player with their name, position, team and card number on the bottom of the front. The backs included in this set are Blank back only. At one time it was thought this set came with a Sporting news backs. There are several other backs that have been designated there own sets because they sell for a premium. They are Block & Kuhl, Famous & Barr, Gimbels, Holmes to Homes, Moorehouse Baking and Successful Farming.
